The development of industrial robots and the direction of independent innovation
At present, China has become the world's largest consumer market for robots. More and more companies are applying robots to all aspects of product production, and the wave of “machine substitution” continues to rise. Behind this wave, it should be noted that China's industrial robot industry is still in the growth stage, and there is still a certain gap between the technical level and foreign countries. The high-end robots mainly rely on imports for core components such as servo motors, controllers and reducers. . In order to seize this market opportunity, domestic enterprises need to strengthen technical research and development on key components, focus on deep integration with information technology and artificial intelligence, develop to the upstream and middle of the industry, and seize the opportunity period of global robot industry development.
In recent years, the development of the industrial robot industry has been flourishing. A group of US information technology companies represented by Google, Intel, Microsoft, etc. have quietly laid out the field of robotics and will lead a new round of transformation in the industry. With the advent of the era of intelligent manufacturing, the robot industry will merge with many advanced technologies such as big data, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, etc., and become part of several intelligent service platforms. Luo Jun, CEO of the International Robotics and Intelligent Equipment Industry Alliance Called the era of the robot industry 2.0.
The deep integration of China's robot industry with information technology and artificial intelligence technology is about to begin. At present, China has basically mastered the technology of industrial robot's ontology design and manufacturing, hardware and software design, kinematics and orbit planning. Today, China has become the largest application market in the global robotics industry.
Although China's robot market is in a good market, the products produced by more than 500 robot companies, large and small, have a market share of only 20% in the domestic market. The upstream of the robot industry is the core component, which is equivalent to the "brain" of robots. In this field, core technologies such as high-precision servo motors, high-performance controllers, and precision reducers are basically imported. The midstream of the industry is the robot body, which is the "body" of the robot. The downstream of the industry is the system integrator. At present, 95% of the enterprises in China are concentrated in this link.
In the above three core technical fields, the number of patent applications filed by domestic and foreign applicants is flat, but at the level of technological development, the gap between domestic and foreign companies is more obvious.
“At present, the United States is active in robotics innovation. Europe and Japan are major suppliers of industrial robots, and have achieved complete autonomy of core components such as sensors, controllers, and precision reducers.” In terms of harmonic reducers There are already alternative products in China, but the input torque, torsion height, transmission accuracy and efficiency of the products are not far from the products of Japanese companies, and the application on industrial robots has just started. In the field of servo motors, China's related companies have also developed high-power AC permanent magnet synchronous motors in recent years, but further verification is needed in terms of dynamic performance, openness and reliability. In terms of robot controllers, foreign companies mainly conduct independent research and development on the basis of general multi-axis motion control platform. Domestic enterprises have also developed relatively mature products in controller motion control cards, but their applications are few.
Chinese enterprises have produced some key components of robots, and developed industrial robots such as arc welding, palletizing, assembly, stamping, and painting. The key technologies such as controllers and servo motors independently developed by China have basically met the needs of low-end and mid-end industries. However, for the technical fields with high precision requirements such as chip processing, the technical gap between domestic enterprises is obvious, and the high-end equipment market is mostly mainstream. Robot companies occupy.
Behind the rapid development of the industry is the sharp increase in market demand. At present, the manufacturing industry in some coastal areas of China is more common in implementing the “machine substitution” program to improve product production efficiency.
While promoting the demonstration application, the relevant departments should also combine the ‘machine substitution' program with the cultivation of the local robot industry, and combine the robot industry with ‘Internet+’ and intelligent manufacturing to lay out the 2.0 era of the robot industry as early as possible. Nowadays, it is not important where a product is manufactured. The relevant enterprises in China should try to enter the middle and upper reaches of the robot industry and use the Internet thinking to open up the middle and high-end market, not just in the production and processing. Due to the certain gap between foreign high-level R&D talents and R&D strength, China's robotic industry's independent innovation needs to maintain cooperation with global top-level design institutions to keep pace with international technology development.
In the independent research and development of domestic robot technology, China needs to increase investment and research and development of key technologies, improve the self-sufficiency rate of parts and components, integrate existing research and development resources, and form a batch of technology research and development laboratories, engineering centers, and enterprise technology centers as soon as possible. The whole machine and key parts testing center, etc., at the same time, cultivate independent intellectual property brands, and make the domestic industrial robot industry bigger and stronger.
In the fierce market competition, patents are the umbrella of technological innovation. Domestic robot companies need to make full use of patent information, clarify research ideas and directions, and formulate patent strategies suitable for R&D capabilities and business conditions. While strengthening R&D, domestic companies should also pay attention to patent analysis of competitors, especially foreign strong enterprises, and reduce the risk of patent infringement.
